On behalf of the 21st annual Hatton Golf Classic and the The FBIAA Memorial College Fund (MCF), we wish to extend our heartfelt gratitude for your contribution. We could not be more grateful for your support and the many volunteers. The spirit and commitment to care for our FBI families remains strong.

Truly special this year was that the FBI Academy, BFTC Class 22-03 Alpha, chose to honor Special Agent Hatton as part of the FBI Martyr Program. The martyr program was created for BFTC New Agent Trainees to honor FBI agents who have lost their lives in the line of duty. The statues each represent one of the FBI martyrs that has been chosen by a BFTC class. Each trainee carries the martyr statue with them during the training day, in order to carry a constant reminder that one of the realities of being a law enforcement officer is the possibility of losing one’s own life in the line of duty or losing a coworker.

The class did research into SA Hatton’s personal and professional background. Their research revealed SA Hatton’s #44 was retired from his high school football program. The class has 44 people in their section and to them, it was a sign that he was the right agent to honor.

While we look back 20 years to the events of 9/11, we are reminded of the continued loss of life from these attacks. As of mid 2021, there are 80 children who will be eligible for the MCF, but they are not yet of college age. There are an additional 12 children of deceased agents who have not participated in the MCF to date but are eligible should they decide to pursue an associate’s or bachelor’s degree. Several of these 12 are working through significant issues because of the parent's loss and hope to participate in the future. The Fund is planning for additional Special Agents to be added to those lost in the line of duty related to 9/11, as approximately 75 are fighting various illnesses. Our work continues………..

We are pleased to report that this year’s golf classic raised $30,000. Thank you again for your generosity!
